The National Center for Health Statistics reports that about 4 in 10 Americans live with some sort of chronic pain. Are you one of them? Chronic pain infiltrates all areas of your life and changes the way you do things and relate to others. Luckily, there are treatments available that can help you win the battle against chronic pain and end the suffering that perhaps you’ve grown far too accustomed to.
What is biopuncture?
Biopuncture is a fairly recent European injection therapy that is making great strides against chronic pain. It is a therapy where specific areas of the body are injected with a mixture of low doses of natural products that work to treat pain, swelling, inflammation and the accumulation of toxins. Biopuncture also stimulates the immune system, balances hormones, speeds healing, and restores energy. The goal of biopuncture is healing, not simply masking pain and thereby lessening the symptoms. This is why the injection amounts are so small.
Does biopuncture hurt?
The injection is given with a very fine needle and is injected just below the skin, which causes little to no discomfort. Often times, multiple injections are given during one visit. For example, if you are having problems with a particular joint, your doctor will inject you several times in specially designated locations near that joint. Serious side effects are rare, while the most common side effects are a small bruise or redness at the injection site. During the actual injection, some patients will feel a pinprick with slight pressure, burning, or aching. Other patients have reported feeling nothing at all.
Biopuncture works wonders for sports injuries such as sprains, muscle cramps or spasms, arthritis, neck and back pain, tennis elbow, muscle tension, and headaches. Additionally, biopuncture can also be used for asthma, colds, allergies, flu, and gastro-intestinal disorders.
Why is biopuncture great for sports injuries?
Many of the natural products that are used in the biopuncture injection are great for treating sports injuries. The most common of these products are Traumeel, Zeel, and Spascupreel, which work together to ease pain and inflammation, while allowing the body to heal and rebuild.
- Traumeel-used for treating inflammation, specifically from sports related injuries such as acute trauma (sprains, fractures, contusions) or repetitive/overuse injuries (tendonitis, bursitis, epicondylitis, etc.)
- Zeel-used for chronic joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation. Also works well for those suffering from arthritis.
- Spascupreel-used for muscle cramps or spasms.
Biopuncture is a therapy that treats a lot more than just sports injuries. There are virtually hundreds of combinations of homeopathic substances that can be made into a biopuncture “cocktail” to treat your particular ailment.
Am I a good candidate for biopuncture?
Not all illnesses, injuries, or diseases will benefit from biopuncture, but many will. Some of the conditions that can benefit from Biopuncture are:
- Tendon problems, such as tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, patellar tendonitis
- Shoulder pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Knee pain
- Tension headaches, including migraines
